#280 Team chant ideas?

Posted by Drogbazooka11 on 17 April 2014 - 10:47 PM

This may be premature since we don't actually have a team name yet, but I thought I would get people discussing possibilities.

Let's hear 'em...

#429 Team chant ideas?

Posted by Jonesta on 20 April 2014 - 02:02 AM

ATL  sung to the tune of Over There from the WWI era

Stolen from the BigSoccer thread on the same subject:

A-T-L, A-T-L,
Send the word, send the word A-T-L!
That the (teamname/nickname) are coming,
The (teamname/nickname/) are coming,
The drums rum-tumming
Ev'rywhere.

So prepare, say a pray'r,
Send the word, send the word to beware.
We'll be over, we're coming over,
And we won't come back till it's over
A-T-L!

Could probably be refined some more to personalize it to Atlanta and our team even more, but the basic elements work very well and it can easily be learned.

#2980 15% Season Ticket Shop Discount

Posted by balooby on 01 March 2016 - 03:13 PM

Anyone know where season ticket holders can shop to utilize their 15% discount?  Can this be applied on the official online shop?

Edit:  I sent an email to the ticket office inquiring about this too.  Will post what I find out here.

This page is where you can find information about local soccer supporter's groups.

If you know of any other groups in the Atlanta  or surrounding area, Send me a message about them so I can get their information to keep this updated.

As for the rest of the stadium, Ghost is right, but that's pretty standard for most stadiums. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a rule against big flags in other parts of the stadium.

#1438 Welcome to the Forums! Please Read!

Posted by CoachJD on 05 December 2014 - 04:16 PM

Welcome to the Atlanta United F.C. forum!

Some of you are well versed in participating in forums and some of you are first timers. I have taken this from the Seattle Sounders' forum and adjusted it to fit our new team's forum. Here are a few tips about our forum and how to get the most enjoyment out of it:

Don’t take yourself or anyone else too seriously - have fun. If you really want to stay in formed, follow this forum by clicking the follow button at the top right corner of the forum.

We will try to avoid having several threads about the same subject. Take a quick look to see if there is already a thread about what you wish to discuss. Looking at the first page of threads is usually good enough but if you have an issue that seems like it may have come up before, please use the search box.

Disagreeing with someone else’s opinion is a fundamental part of the forums. Ideally it will be a “respectful” exchange of opinions with each party explaining his or her position, going back and forth, others chiming in etc. Joking and tweaking happens all the time, just don’t descend down into name calling or personal attacks. If you find yourself always getting worked up over another person’s posts, use the ignore button and you won’t see his/her posts anymore. You can always un-ignore later if you want. We are all fans of the Atlanta MLS team and all support the team in different ways.

Explaining and backing up your opinion is way more effective than repeating your opinion.

It’s okay to change your mind. It’s okay to apologize. It’s okay to edit or delete your post if you went overboard. Have a thick skin, let things go.

Threads are conversations and don’t have to have winners and losers. Threads are easy to get off topic and come back on topic... some of the best wander far off-topic.

Yes this is America and we can say whatever we want but the Atlanta MLS team put this forum up for our enjoyment (most MLS clubs only have a forum on the MLS site) so we need to fit with their vision. You can criticize the team, ownership, coach (which we don't have yet, but we can speculate!), supporter's groups, the stadium, and anything else as much as you want. However, Atlanta United F.C. want all of their fans to feel comfortable here and they believe that less profanity is better in this regard. For some, this can be a challenge, but please give it a try - We want this to be a great forum and you will find that the effort is worth it.

When you open a forum category, the last thread to have a comment on it will be on the top of the list, preceded only by threads that are "pinned" to the top of the list. The poster who started the thread will be identified, along with the number of posts and the last person to post will also be identified. In front of the thread title will be a black star, if you have not read all of the posts in that thread. Clicking on the star will take you to the last post in that thread that you have not read. The star is grey if you have read all of the posts. This makes it very easy to go right to where you left off, rather than clicking on the thread title and having to work your way through and find where you were.

I am excited to be working on the forums and helping to keep the forums up and running smoothly. If you see anything that needs to be taken care of, please report it and I will be able to take care of it quickly now. Those previous threads that were already reported, those I knew about previously and those that were reported that I didn't know about, have already been cleared up. Thanks for joining the forums! Have fun and lets keep the forum going!

#1981 Team chant ideas?

Posted by UScasual38 on 01 July 2015 - 11:57 AM

Random idea while sitting in traffic on 75.

What about opponent specific chants/songs?

For instance: vs. NYCFC (to the tune of go tell aunt Rhody)

"You're Man City Junior
You're Man City Junior
You're Man City Junior

And you can go to hell!"

Even though I was born and raised in the south I have never really understood the nostalgia people here have for the Civil War. That said, I really like that idea.

#4516 Jersey without sponsor logo?

Posted by brewman on 21 February 2017 - 08:38 PM

I would like to buy an adult size Atlanta United jersey (training or match), but without the sponsor logo.  Does anyone know if it's a team decision not to offer a jersey for sale without the ridiculous logo, or is that a league mandate?

#4221 Mascot Ideas

Posted by JMallam97 on 13 December 2016 - 12:35 AM

We already know that how our home jersey looks like but here's the problem we don't know what our mascot looks like. We need to come together and come with one that's fits in the Atlanta and the Atlanta Metropolitan area well. Feel free to use drawing / 3d programs.

Be sure to include all views the front, side, and back into your idea.

#4072 Potential Lawsuit by Season Ticket Holders against ATLUTD

Posted by CherryGhost on 27 October 2016 - 11:56 PM

As posted in another thread:

Talked to a few sth's today and several have contacted lawyers after the team has refused any type of refund request. According to these folks, a group of 10-15 STH are contemplating filing a lawsuit against ATLUTD for breach of contract, fraudulent misrepresentations and other equitable relief.

Not exactly great PR for the team.

ATLUTD's non-response to this is mind boggling. They are underestimating many STH's anger and frustration. Contrary to the team's belief, this is not simply going away. Nor should it.

Please PM me if you would like more information about the proposed lawsuit.

#4354 Potential Lawsuit by Season Ticket Holders against ATLUTD

Posted by Nermin_88 on 24 January 2017 - 08:51 PM

Not a match has been played and you guys are fighting. This will be one heck of a year!

From the 2 other ST Holders I know, we have all been refunded 10% of the matches being played at Bobby Dodd. I'm not even sure why people were so upset, Bobby Dodd is a quality place to watch a soccer match.

I agree with that, but I think the main group of people that won't stop whining are the ones who spent a heavy amount on Club seats and such .

Love all the teams player moves... But this had to have been known for awhile...

I would give back my mini-refunds to not have to sit on metal bleachers in July...

#3975 The Benz opening now late June/early July

Posted by brewman on 05 October 2016 - 09:04 PM

Steve Canon, CEO of AMB Group, in a recent interview is now saying late June or early July.

Article

From the article quoting Steve Cannon:

He said “substantial completion” is scheduled for June, and “we’re not changing our position on that whatsoever.” But asked if it is known whether events will be held there in June, he said: “We’re shooting for the summer, and whether that summer is late June or early July, that is dependent on the MLS schedule as well as the (testing) process for the stadium.”

#4424 Carolina matches road trips

Posted by Gr8Force on 04 February 2017 - 03:17 PM

I'm going to the match on the 25th. Sad thing is you really don't get to pick your seats. You pick a price range and then they put you where they want.

I'm still looking forward to see what kind of improvement they make from the Chattanooga match (going with Terminus Legion!) to this one.

#4235 Southeastern Cup

Posted by tornRose on 15 December 2016 - 07:58 AM

I would like to propose something similar to the Cascadia Cup.

Everyone loves a good rivalry, regardless of the sport.  And the only one that I can think of off the top of my head MLS-wise is Seattle vs. Portland.  It's already shaping up to be a heated rivalry between Atlanta and Orlando City, so why not make it a little interesting?

Think about it.  Right now, there's only two teams in the southeast.  Have ATL and ORL face each other during the offseason, winner gets the cup for the year.  The cup can't be won back over during the season.

It's only a matter of time until MLS comes to NC/SC, and maybe a decade or two down the line, Alabama will establish a team.  Then, it would be a "final four" kind of competition, where your standings in the previous year determine your seed number.  Seed 1 plays seed 4, seed 2 plays seed 3.

But I'm getting ahead of myself.  I apologize.

Anyway, the Southeastern Cup.  Good for the rivalry, good for the teams, good for the fanbases.  Thoughts?
