ATL  sung to the tune of Over There from the WWI era

Stolen from the BigSoccer thread on the same subject:

A-T-L, A-T-L,
Send the word, send the word A-T-L!
That the (teamname/nickname) are coming,
The (teamname/nickname/) are coming,
The drums rum-tumming
Ev'rywhere.

So prepare, say a pray'r,
Send the word, send the word to beware.
We'll be over, we're coming over,
And we won't come back till it's over
A-T-L!

Could probably be refined some more to personalize it to Atlanta and our team even more, but the basic elements work very well and it can easily be learned.

Maybe some Zac Brown band or Indigo Girls. Personally I, would love some "Closer To Fine" or maybe Cee Loo Green's collaborative piece "Crazy"

I think we need to convert every major rap song produced in ATL between 2004-2009 into a soccer chant. I really don't feel like coping other teams if for nothing else to keep them from giving us shit about it.

Georgia and Atlanta has such a rich music history from Ray Charles and Little Richard to TI, Outkast, Usher, Ludacris, Goodie Mob to Black Crows, REM, B52's Allman Brothers and Widespead to Alan Jackson, Lady Antbellum, Travis Tritt, Zac Brown and Jason Aldean.  There is so many options that we have no excuse but to have a ton of original stuff.

To the TI song "Whatever you like"

We will score whenever we like!

I like that song, but I don't think it would transfer well to a chant with the tempo it has.

We should do something with Trillville's Get Some Crunk In Yo System and Archie Eversole/Bubba Sparxxx's We Ready

In fact i think We Ready is a must talk about getting hyped up, hard to beat that one for a sporting event.

I was thinking like "Sweet Home Alabama" for the 60th minute, "Rocky Top Tennessee" for the 70th Minute and finally, "Georgia on My Mind" for the 80th Minute.

I cant' remember if it was here or on another soccer forum, but a poster suggested we sing Georgia on My Mind (some portion of the song, at least). It was suggested to sing it at the 79th minute since it became the official song of Georgia in 1979. Even if it was the first part of a simple chorus of the song (or some recognizable part everyone knows) we could eventually get the entire stadium singing Georgia on My Mind. That'd be awesome.

I concur, that would be something for the MLS to see!

On that Atlanta hip hop note

"To the windows to the wall..." I'm sure someone can come up with a creative verse for the club

To the tune of "Come On Eileen" by Dexy's Midnight Runners:

(slow like you're waiting forever for a goal)

Come on, At-lan-taaa, we need a goal.

Come on, At-lan-taaa, we need a goal.

Come on, At-lan-taaa, we need a . . .

A GOAL TODAAAAAAY!!!

Come on A-T-L,

We need a goal todaaaaaay,

Come on A-T-L . . .

[drum beat (BAM  BAM  BAM  BAM, BAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAM)]

(faster up beat tempo)

Come on ATL,

Oooh I swear ATL

At this moment,

YOU MEAN EEEEEEEVERYTHIIIIING!!! (JUMP AND GO APE SHATTY while clapping in sync)

We've all got the back,

Of the Red and the Black,

So come on let's,

GET A GOAL TODAAAAAY . . .

(slow down, go back to the beginning, and repeat ad nauseam til they score)
